European Apostolic Summit

Understand God’s Part, Understand Ours, and Understand the Part of God’s & Ours Together (Co-laboring)

  • Nations / There are some things we can’t go and we shouldn’t try. I think if Paul, in all his power and glory and kingdom authority, couldn’t change the Roman empire, than neither can you. To change the Roman empire takes dealing with Principalities and we don’t deal with Principalities, God does. And he eventually did, judged that Empire, and brought an end to it. The nations are God’s responsibility… He will judge them. He will take care of them.

  • Nations many times is “ethnos”, which refers to the people not the governmental structures.

18 “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

  • Some translations say “make disciples”, but the emphasis is still on the teachings of Jesus, the word of God, that begets according to its own seed.

Nations = ethnos strong’s 1484 = a multitude (whether of men or of beasts) associated or living together

    1. a company, troop, swarm

  1. a multitude of individuals of the same nature or genus

    1. the human family

  2. a tribe, nation, people group

  3. in the OT, foreign nations not worshipping the true God, pagans, Gentiles

  4. Paul uses the term for Gentile Christians

The Gospel / I personally believe there are limitations on kingdom now doctrine because there are some things that only God can do. The book of Revelation & Daniel clearly depicts this. But with that, we’re still called to occupy until he returns (Lk.19:13).

  • But I believe the Gospel is still the main change agent for nations, not clever “nation taking”. Strategies can come by the spirit, and we need to be sensitive to that, but ultimately we must have the power of the spirit… we must have God moving in his glory in our midst.

Things that Must be Preserved & Kept

  • When speaking of Governmental Reformation in the church, the Lord will help us to understand what things to hang on to and what things to let go of.

  • There are some things that are “kingdom culture”... they are things that are eternal which will never change, and we should stick with those things.

    • Ex) Intercession… Christ forever lives to make intercession for us (Heb.7:25).

    • Ex) Tithing & Giving …. It was established by Melchizedek, pre-Mosaic law, with Abraham. Tithing is a part of the Abrahamic covenant, and it applies eternally to Abraham’s natural & spiritual seed (Israel & the Church). It’s kingdom, not old testament. The tithe is the tribute to the king. It was established by Melchizedek who was a Christophany, .. a pre-incarnate visitation of Christ.

Things that Must be Preserved & Kept

(1 Thes.5:16-23)

16 Rejoice evermore.

17 Pray without ceasing.

18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

19 Quench not the Spirit.

20 Despise not prophesyings.

21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

23 “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

1. The Ministry of the Spirit

  • Praise & worship (individually & corporately)

  • Prayer & Intercession

  • The Seer Anointing (not just praying, but watching first…. Not just preaching &

  teaching, but seeing, hearing, sensing in the spirit,...).

  • The laying on of hands, Impartation.

  • Waiting on the Lord (soaking)

  • Revival ministry

    • People like to say, “God’s not into revival anymore, He’s into kingdom”.... But I say, why not both? Isn’t revival apart of kingdom culture?

2. The Ministry of the Word

  • Teaching & Preaching

    • Prophetic (Inspirational, seeing, sensing, prayer flow..) (Right side of the brain)

    • Analytic, Practical, pragmatic, problem solving, line upon line…. Precept upon precept. (Left side of the brain).

    -  Prophecy

    - Primarily involves the basis of scripture…. Without this, it becomes increasingly

  • 7 mountain biblical teaching

    • Biblical based teaching using biblical principles which are palatable for the world…. Stripped of the religious container.

    • This kind of teaching involves the collective wisdom and knowledge of man… This knowledge base and collective wisdom must be used by the church… but our foundation for processing and using all wisdom, knowledge, and understanding available to mankind must remain the word of the God, the holy bible.

    • Governmental / ex) Moses… trained as a prince of Egypt, in kingship and governing… managing affairs of state, managing people, money, defenses, etc… This was a pagan culture, yet the principles of good ruling ultimately come from God.

      • Some people in the church are not equipped for their calling…. Not because of their lack of biblical knowledge & understanding, but because they lack the practical training…. They lack the equipping which can only come from a system in the world.

    • Business / ex) bible… essentially good business is good kingdom…. It involves leadership, stewardship, serving others..

    • Psychology/sociology / ex) many charismatics are seeking God for miracles for things that they need to receive through repentance…. Repent in the new testament is metanoia…. It means to change by starting with the mind… change your mind, change the way you think, change your identity…. Change your life.

3. Church Structure

  • 5 Fold ministry

    • This governmental leadership which Paul the apostle detailed is clearly in place “Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:” (Eph.4:13).

    • This clearly hasn’t happened yet, so this still has an essential place in the church.

       Office Gifts for Transition

  • Prophets can often be criticized for operating ahead of time.

  • Pastors can be criticized for operating in the past… in an older wineskin… This is why the Apostles are needed.

  • Apostles have the prophetic insight of where God is moving into the church, but they have the timing of God as well…. With this timing comes a grace to actually make the shift… So the apostles will actually manifest by the gift of faith what prophets have been talking about forever,... and they’ll also have the fathering grace to bring pastors along.

  • Evangelists often receive new models, new tools, new wineskins for reaching the lost in cultures and times.

  • Teachers work with the apostles to bring forth rhema word teaching… certain emphasis from scripture for seasons to bring forth a new layer of restoration and glory for the church & the bride.

       Office Gifts for the Constant

  • Evangelists manage the heart of God for the lost in all seasons. This doesn’t change…. This is a constant.

  • Teachers teach the word in all seasons… Nothing is new under the sun… teachings cycle through the body for balanced diet & nutrition. People higher dieticians to evaluate their diets and make suggestions about how to have a balanced diet for optimal health, strength, mental clarity, and overall quality of life.

  • Apostles for the constant who have led great breakthroughs into new territory… they have a grace to hold the fort… to the hold the lines. So that’s they’re in time of peace… there’s a time to war and a time for peace. Kingdom advancement comes in waves.

Things that Must Be Cut & Let Go of

Models that Worked for a Time & Era but no longer Work today

  • There were models that worked before that don’t work today.

    • Ex) Today, you must have media ministry as a part of your strategy….

      • Facebook and YouTube dominate this landscape, as notable majorities of U.S. adults use each of these sites. At the same time, younger Americans (especially those ages 18 to 24) stand out for embracing a variety of platforms and using them frequently. Some 78% of 18- to 24-year-olds use Snapchat, and a sizeable majority of these users (71%) visit the platform multiple times per day. Similarly, 71% of Americans in this age group now use Instagram and close to half (45%) are Twitter users. (https://www.pewinternet.org/2018/03/01/social-media-use-in-2018/

Religious Systems

  • The Catholic Church, for example,... I personally feel that there’s nothing redeemable about the institution itself. You don’t see it in the millenium in scripture… it will not survive the day of the Lord. I think the Lord has spoken clearly… He’s not going to try and reform the Catholic Church… prophetic words that say otherwise are wrong. He can reform people in it,... but for the most part, people have been called out of that institution. The Lord made that clear in Luther and Calvin’s day,... It’s established. The cloud moved. God says move with it.

  • The church is being faced with a critical juncture, likened to Elijah’s time. We have to choose about some things.

Don’t be double-minded

(James 1:1-8)

1 “James, a bondservant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad: Greetings.

2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,

3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.

7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;

8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”

Quit faltering between two opinions

(1 Kings 18:21) NKJV

“And Elijah came to all the people, and said, “How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But the people answered him not a word.”

(1 Kings 18:21) CEV (Contemporary English version)

“Elijah stood in front of them and said, "How much longer will you try to have things both ways?...”

(1 Kings 18:21) GNT (Good News Translation)

“Elijah went up to the people and said, "How much longer will it take you to make up your minds?...”

(1 Kings 18:21) NET

“Elijah approached all the people and said, "How long are you going to be paralyzed by indecision?...”

(1 Kings 18:21) Young’s Literal Translation

“and Elijah cometh nigh unto all the people, and saith, 'Till when are ye leaping on the two branches?...”

  • will we let the faith of our father’s fade, or will we have another awakening

  • A few things that determined canon of scripture in early church; one was “self evidence”... scriptures revealed themselves… several church Fathers who were saved just through reading the Jewish prophets & apostles, reading the Bible.

  • 66 books in the Holy Bible, 66 buds on the menorah.

ELIJAH = Hebrew = Jehovah is God

(1 John 2:22)

“Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.”

  • Jesus is Jehovah.

  • My revelation 19 encounter, Yom Kippur September 19th 2017, line of prophets, the word, Old Testament & New.

  • Old Testament authors were not limited by a religious spirit, the old covenant, the law, when they wrote scripture.

The Song of Moses & the Lamb

6 "Your right hand, O LORD, has become glorious in power;
Your right hand, O LORD, has dashed the enemy in pieces.
7 And in the greatness of Your excellence
You have overthrown those who rose against You;
You sent forth Your wrath;
It consumed them like stubble.
8 And with the blast of Your nostrils
The waters were gathered together;
The floods stood upright like a heap;
The depths congealed in the heart of the sea.
9 The enemy said, 'I will pursue,
I will overtake,
I will divide the spoil;
My desire shall be satisfied on them.
I will draw my sword,
My hand shall destroy them.'
10 You blew with Your wind,
The sea covered them;
They sank like lead in the mighty waters.
11 "Who is like You, O LORD, among the gods?
Who is like You, glorious in holiness,
Fearful in praises, doing wonders?
12 You stretched out Your right hand;
The earth swallowed them.
13 You in Your mercy have led forth
The people whom You have redeemed;
You have guided them in Your strength
To Your holy habitation.”

1 Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous: seven angels having the seven last plagues, for in them the wrath of God is complete.
2 And I saw something like a sea of glass mingled with fire, and those who have the victory over the beast, over his image and over his markfn and over the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God.
3 They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying:

"Great and marvelous are Your works,
Lord God Almighty!
Just and true are Your ways,
O King of the saints!fn
4 Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name?
For You alone are holy.
For all nations shall come and worship before You,
For Your judgments have been manifested."

16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith."
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,”

2 “But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against those who practice such things.
3 And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the same, that you will escape the judgment of God?
4 Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?
5 But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,
6 who "will render to each one according to his deeds":
7 eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality;
8 but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness--indignation and wrath,
9 tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek;”

(1 Jn.4:10)

“In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”

“1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants--things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John,
2 who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw.
3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.”

18 “For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will addfn to him the plagues that are written in this book;
19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
20 He who testifies to these things says, "Surely I am coming quickly." Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.”

  • Both the old & New Testament apostles & prophets prophesied concerning the last days… promises for both the church and the nation of Israel.

Kingdom Now

8 “Whatever city you enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you.
9 "And heal the sick there, and say to them, 'The kingdom of God has come near to you.”

“But if I cast out demons with the finger of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.”

"In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.

Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.”

20 “Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, "The kingdom of God does not come with observation;
21 "nor will they say, 'See here!' or 'See there!' For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you."

Kingdom Come

1 “The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
2 Now it shall come to pass in the latter days
That the mountain of the LORD's house
Shall be established on the top of the mountains,
And shall be exalted above the hills;
And all nations shall flow to it.
3 Many people shall come and say,
"Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD,
To the house of the God of Jacob;
He will teach us His ways,
And we shall walk in His paths."
For out of Zion shall go forth the law,
And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
4 He shall judge between the nations,
And rebuke many people;
They shall beat their swords into plowshares,
And their spears into pruning hooks;
Nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
Neither shall they learn war anymore.”

11 “Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.
12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He hadfn a name written that no one knew except Himself.
13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean,fn followed Him on white horses.
15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharpfn sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:

"You may be surprised at the maturity and revelatory gifting from such a young prophet as Stephen Powell."

- Steve Shultz

"Stephen Powell may be a relatively new voice within the prophetic movement, but it's clear God is using him in a very powerful way."

- Bob Eschliman
